We at PROTRAN Unique Travel & Tours proudly presents our Authentic Civil Rights Experience. Join us as we travel back in time to the Civil Rights Movement, a time of social injustice (discrimination, inequality) and the life of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr., from his birth in Atlanta to his death in Memphis, Tennessee. We will follow his and other Civil Rights heroes footsteps through their journey for equality for Blacks; going back to an era when Blacks were known as Negroes, N- - - as, colored, boy, girl, coon, and other derogatory names.
During this era Blacks could not vote, eat in the same restaurants, attend the same schools, nor drink from the same fountains as Whites. Blacks were considered the lowest class of people; they were made to go through the back door, use unsanitary restroom facilities, (usually outdoors), sit in the back of the bus, spat on, could not look A White person in the eye, and even murdered because of the color of their skin.
When they finally said “ENOUGH” and began to fight for their equal rights to equality, they were jailed, attacked by dogs, beaten by Police (Edmond Pettus Bridge), sprayed with high powered fire hoses, and killed (16th Street Baptist Church).
You will see how we came from no rights to equal rights; from segregation to integration; from the back door to the front door; and from the back of the bus to anywhere on the bus (even owning and driving the bus), and OH YES, we have even progressed to a ‘BLACK PRESIDENT’
We as African Americans need to know where we came from in order to get where we are going. Sit back, relax, and open your mind, while we take you on a journey through time, a journey that will impact your life, a journey unlike any you have experienced, an actual Green Book Experience.
